Huazhong Agricultural School and Springer Nature Publishing Group Signed the Cooperation Publication Agreement of “Molecular Breeding”

On the morning of October 21st, the cooperation publication ceremony of Molecular Breeding signed by the State Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement and the Springer Nature Publishing Group was held in the conference room on the 6th floor of the laboratory.


 

Professor Qifa Zhang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the new editor-in-chief of Molecular Breeding, presided over the signing ceremony of the cooperative publication. Lizhong Xiong, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement, and Dr. Jacco Flipsen, Vice President of Springer Nature Publishing Group, signed the cooperation agreement.

 

According to the agreement, the main contents of the cooperation between the two parties are: the editor-in-chief team of Academician Qifa Zhangs laboratory is responsible for the academic management of Molecular Breeding, and the Springer Nature Publishing Group is responsible for the publication of Molecular Breeding. There is a laboratory logo on the cover of each issue of the paper edition and e-edition of Molecular Breeding, and our school is indicated a cooperative publisher(This Journal is published in partnership with the National Key Lab of Crop Genetic Improvement at Huazhong Agricultural University, China). Molecular Breeding homepage and laboratory homepage are all linked and free access to information. Springer Nature Publishing Group will thank the State Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement for contribution of cooperation publication in the design of various materials of the magazine.

 

Founded in the Netherlands in 1995, Molecular Breeding is a classic SCI publication in the field of international plant molecular breeding. It covers the fields of crop molecular biology, crop functional genomics, crop molecular breeding, crop new molecular breeding technology, etc. Types of publications include research articles, newsletters, special issues, and reviews.

 

The relevant person in charge pointed out that the development advantages of our school and China's biology, crop science and other disciplines had laid a solid foundation for the high-quality development of Molecular Breeding. The two sides will cooperate to build a first-class journal in the field of molecular breeding, which will further invigorate the international academic cooperation and exchange level of our school's biology, crop science and other national key experimental platforms, further enhance the international reputation, and promote the school's double first-class construction and characteristics and the realization of the goals of the world-class universities in the world, and thus contribute to the promotion of China's international influence and academic discourse power.

 

After the signing ceremony, the editorial committee of "Molecular Breeding" was held. The members of the editorial board introduced themselves to the participants in turn; Dr.Yu Zhu from the Beijing Office of Life Science in Springer Nature Publishing Group introduced the recent work of the magazine. Professor Liang Guo, one of the executive editors of Molecular Breeding (the other was Professor Yibo Li), reported on the progress of the editorial team in the past year, including the new session of the editorial board, the duties of the new editorial board and so on. More than 20 editorial committees exchanged opinions on how to promote the development of journals, improve the influence of journals, improve the quality of journal articles, article citations, acceptance and publication depth, submission and review procedures, and media publicity. The consensus of development was formed. They said that the magazine's immediate goal was to improve the quality and diversity of manuscripts and greatly increase the impact of journals.
