On the afternoon of March 15th, 2018 Propaganda Work Seminar of College of Plant Science and Technology was held in West Annex Report Hall of the Main building. Deputy Minister of Party Committee Propaganda Department in HZAU- Nan Feng, Secretary of College’s Party Committee- Zhengning Zhu and Dean Jianbing Yan, attended the seminar. In addition, all the administration staff of College, every teams’ teachers and students who are responsible for advertising and student reporters from College’s News Center attended,too. The seminar was hosted by Hailin Xiong, Deputy Secretary of College’s Party Committee.
At the seminar, Xiyan Yang, a professor of cotton team, Haoyang Jia, a counselor and Jie Zhang, the student leader of “Shishan Employment” had an exchange with everyone around some topics, including the propaganda of research teams and results, the personal thinking of news writing, the operation of new media.
“During my life in university, I was a teaching information officer and organized to compile and print 16-mo magazines,” Jianbing Yan talked about his fate with propaganda work and pointed out that propaganda is the productivity, “2018 is not only the 120th birthday of our university but also an important period of our college’s development. So we should devote our wisdom to doing propaganda work better.”
He also talked about his ideas of propaganda work, “scientific and technological reports should highlight the major discoveries and application value of the result. The report must tell the readers about the results rather than just emphasize the research methods. Except the reports about science or technology, the figures reporst should use more positive and down-to-earth languages.”
“The propaganda work should be always grasped for a long time,” he hoped that teachers and students of our college could take propaganda work as a part of career. What’s more, he hoped that our college can achieve significant results on propaganda work, taking the 120th anniversary as an opportunity. For example, he said that our college can organize ten teams to travel around and do some social practice, in order to look for alumni who works in different job fields.
When giving the lecture, Nan Feng mentioned Stephen Hawking, “Although Hawking passed away, the influence of his scientific works can be far-reaching.” The goal of propaganda work is to tell stories in universities and academic stories well and let academic works shine. What’s more, propaganda work should be friendly and serious.
Zhengning Zhu stated in his concluding speech: “The development of college careers is entering a new stage. The revival of crop subjects and plant subjects requires us to be united. In this context, propaganda work must be placed in an important position as well.”
Xianhong Wang, a student reporter of college’s news center, said after the seminar, “Never know this matter to practice”. And she said that she will work harder to write more excellent stories of our college practically in the future.”
It’s reported that the college has issued Implementation Opinions on Regulating College’s Propaganda Work at the seminar. Later, the college will organize some training about propaganda work capability from time to time to improve the working level of the entire team and promote the development of the college.
