On the morning of March 18th, the 14th Crop Science High-end Forum, sponsored by the Plant Science and Technology College was held in the lecture hall of the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement.This time,the forum was chaired by Vice President Zhang Xianlong. Around the development of intelligent agriculture, Zhao Chunjiang academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering,professor of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture introduced the progress of intelligent agriculture home and abroad to 400 teachers and students present.
He said that intelligent agriculture was the combination of information science technology and agriculture. Using big data and Internet technology to improve the efficiency and accuracy of agricultural production was the inevitable trend of the future development of agriculture in the world,which also represented the arrival of the 4.0 era of Agriculture. To prove it,he introduced the progress of Intelligent Agriculture that US and Europe had made in intelligent agriculture equipment, intelligent sensing system, intelligent robot and agricultural big data in recent years. He added that it would also be the future direction of China's agriculture. Vigorously developing intelligent agriculture could effectively solve problems as labor shortage, livestock precision breeding and crop precision management.
Besides, the progress that NERCITA had made in remote sensing navigation, agricultural machinery Internet of things, soil nitrogen sensors, crop canopy sensors and crop phenome recently was also showed at the meeting. In the end, Academician Zhao stressed that the disparity in intelligent agriculture’s research and promotion between China and developed countries was still huge at present.And the scientific research personnel engaged in Intelligent agriculture field like agriculture, remote sensing, Internet, big data and machinery were still inadequate. Looking forward to the great potential of our intelligent agriculture,he encouraged researchers and students there to devote to it.
After the forum,academician Zhao visited the Laboratory and talked with several experts from Plant Science and Technology College,Economics and Management School College,Information College,Resource and Environment College and Engineering College etc.
Character Introduction: Zhao Chunjiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director and chief expert of the NERCITA and director of Agricultural Information Technology Key Laboratory of Ministry of Agriculture.He founded China’s first agricultural information technology research institution,set up important research platforms and built internationally important precision agriculture research bases,including the National Engineering and Technology Center, the Ministry of agriculture and Beijing Key Laboratory. He has made a lot of achievements. To satisfy the national major demand of "Informationization to promote agricultural modernization", he carried out an innovative research on the deep integration of information and agriculture. To disperse farmers' information services, he took the lead in developing the “Internet plus "agricultural information service cloud platform, expert system for crop cultivation management of wheat and other crops and the secondary development tool “PAID ”for the agricultural expert system. To realize the large-scale farm and precision agriculture, he made running on the development of accurate operation prescription, agricultural machinery Beidou navigation, the fertilizer or pesticides variable implementation control technology. To actualize the intelligent control and management in equipped greenhouse, he developed the greenhouse measurement and control network technology products, which has been widely used. Bisides, he has won 4 second prize of national scientific and technological progress an d 2 international awards.And he has obtained 33 authorized invention patent and published 155 papers. His achievements has been popularized in 30 provinces and cities at home as well as Vietnam.
